Sunday 20th December saw a dozen JET athletes, community members and guests tackled the inaugural Macedon Ranges Tri Handicap. The ‘event’ consisted of a 500m freshwater swim, a 26km one loop bike course and a 4km hilly trail run.
The idea was to create a unique, challenging and fun course that would bring the JET community together. The morning did all that and more – a great morning of swim-bike-run and, importantly, laughs!
A run away swimming buoy and some wrong turns on the run did little to deter our spirits and to top it off we were joined by some non-participating JET packers for brunch.
Shay McLeod was the winner of the handicap for the second year in a row (last year we used timed handicaps at another race). Handicapper take note!
We also had some tackle their own version on the event – including WA and TAS.
It seems a tradition is born… and we may even make it a bi-annual event – Easter handicap anyone?!
