Double run days are a great way to get a ‘long run’ into your week

Arguably you can get greater time, distance and, importantly, quality into your running. Note; by quality I don’t mean intensity

For example on Thursday’s I have been completing double runs instead of one circa two hour run leading into my next event. It means I can:

– run in different locations AM and PM
– have different focus for each run
– accumulate desired volume without ‘slog’ of a long run
– free up one of my days over the weekend
– absorb the load better and therefore maintain consistency and motivation

Note: I have completed a ‘normal’ distance ‘long run’ (for me approx 80-100mins) a few times as well
