Physiological adaptations to training

The notion of training is about adequately preparing ones body (and mind) for the rigours and demands of racing

It generally takes 3 months / 12 weeks of consistent training stimulus for physiological adaptations to occur in our body. As such this timeline should be considered when considering races and events.

Training should be consistent throughout the year but 13 weeks is a good window of time to allow for a mental and emotional focus, as well as, the ability for the body to adapt to training stimulus.

With some careful planning and forward thinking you can really maximise this time and be at your best for the race…

Train smart!
