Many athletes around the globe have been forced indoors of late… and rightly so in many cases. But, getting outside in fresh air, amongst nature and in the sunshine is good for us. Good for us as human beings, let alone as ‘athletes’.
So embrace it and take opportunities where you can… it is healthy and health should always come before chasing fitness and performance.
But the point of this post is to encourage EVERYONE to consider how the training you are doing is going to make you better.
How does it translate to improve your fitness and performance?
Are you getting out of your comfort zone where appropriate?
Have you addressed your weaknesses?
Will the training you are doing translate to real life performance?
You must be engaged in the sets and reps you are doing and also understand the role of individual sessions in the overall picture. Technology is amazing but don’t loose sight of the reasons you were first attracted to the sport and training… And, please, don’t just train for the sake of training.
Do you want to be a virtual athlete, or do you want to be a REAL one?
Happy training!
