It is safe to say we had a great time at Challenge Shepparton over the weekend.
Olivia and Sienna set the tone on Saturday showing us how it is done in the kids race. Well done girls!
Then, we had a handful of guys take on the half distance, four of which were backing up after Geelong 70.3 two weeks ago and Scott Latham who ventured over from Tasmania and backed up after Coles bay half a few weeks prior. Cool conditions and another dose of high winds greeted us making it another tough day of Victorian racing!
A special mention, which she won’t like, to Sophie ‘Finners’ Findlay on a well put together race which addressed some of her self confessed areas of improvement post Geelong a fortnight ago. Her approach and execution saw her take over 10mins off that Geelong time and landed her in PB territory… and on the top step of the podium in her AG. Well done Soph.
We also had another eight guys taking on the OD, including first timer Sam Maricic. A couple of solid PBs (even taking into account the short course) and again some great personal performances which is the most important/rewarding thing.
Finally we had a number of podium places to top things off! As always the support on course and from afar was amazing… and simply fills us with pride.
Thanks to the #JETpack for making our community one that is great to be a part of. Well done to all the guys who raced. Our handicap next weekend at the WSTC event and then we get stuck into POSTSEASON and the PREP PHASE…
All aboard!
