To paraphrase…
“you don’t need to get faster… you are likely able to swim/bike/run at the speed required to reach your goal. The problem is, you cannot do it easy enough”
Think about that for a second and then re-read.
Essentially he is talking about efficiency. Efficiency is the name of the game!
So here are three tips to become a more efficient athlete:
– Strength training (sport specific and otherwise)
– Embrace ‘low HR training’
– Fueling
Bonus: address muscular imbalances and technical flaws
