As your training load ramps up so should all of the supporting habits that will help you sustain and maintain. The same way we (should) service our bikes we need to look after the body. It is easy for these things to drop off when the endurance load increases… but we are not doing ourselves any favours if we drop the ball in these areas…
– Strength work
– Sleep
– Mobility / Pilates
– Foam rolling / massage
And as always, lean in to and embrace those supporting sessions whilst keeping the intensity low. They act to ‘lubricate’ by aiding recovery and preparing for the more demanding sessions.
