I am an advocate for morning training… especially for age groupers and especially for age groupers with busy lives. Why? Well, first thing in the morning provides the most certainty regarding allocation of time to train, which facilitates consistency, and importantly; sets up the body and mind for the day ahead in a very positive manner.
So here is a simple and practical tip: get organised the day before…
As part of you winding down from one day and preparing for bed, set yourself up for success by packing and preparing for the next day. Pack your training equipment and apparel and also prepare the necessary food and fluid for pre/during/post training.
Sounds simple because it is… but it can make a great difference in terms of compliance to training and the stress (or lack thereof) associated with the session by removing time stresses and decision making fatigue when we can be vulnerable (early mornings!)
Keep it simple and get organised!
