Years in the sport
Competitive… this year! But I have swum my whole life
What brought you to the sport?
I lived by the bay my whole life and spent most of it swimming, surfing or competing in surf life saving. I took a big hiatus for the past 5 or so years.
I returned to swimming due to a shoulder injury during 2019/20 –  swimming was my rehab and then realised how much I missed it. From there I realised it was helping my mental health… a lot!
Swimming has re-focused me, re-built my mental health and given me back the confidence and determination I have been looking for.
Biggest accomplishment in the sport?
Actually just getting into the pool!
But also competing in my first open water race 1.8km in Feb after only a months training!
How has triathlon impacted your life?
Returning to swimming has literally changed my life mentally and physically. it has also become a version of mediation.
Dream Goal
There are a few! Right now – I’d like to stay consistent in training and racing, and get my swim pace down to 1:30/100m
Dream Race
The swim leg of a 70.3 NOT in Victoria
Something interesting about you which most people would not know
I travelled the world as a professional singer on a cruise ship for 3 years
