Years in the sport
I’ve been cycling all my life, going through different stages. BMX, mountain bike, road, fixed gear/single speed
What brought you to the sport?
My dad. He got me my first bike when I was 3; a 24 inch wheel bike with 18 gears. I’ve just always loved the freedom of rolling on wheels, being able to go anywhere. It’s a passion that keeps my Dad and I close to this day, as he is also a keen cyclist.
Biggest accomplishment in the sport?
I’ve recently completed the 145km Otway classic ride in Torquay. Other than that – I completed the Mega Avalanche enduro ride in France in 2014 (a 35km long, 2600m vertical decent in 33 minutes… and I made it down in one piece!
How has triathlon impacted your life?
Cycling has always been a way for me to just forget the day, no matter what has happened. Happy? Ride. Sad? Ride. Angry? RIDE! Hungry? Ride to the cafe for coffee and a snack!
I’ve recently got back into road cycling and I feel it has improved my cardiovascular fitness and endurance riding immensely! Overall, cycling has had a huge positive impact on my life.
Dream Goal
My dream bike is an Orbea Rallon. My dream goal is to be able to do 200km rides as a “casual” ride.
Dream Race
I’m slowly starting to swim more often, and, I would actually like to be able to complete a triathlon one day soon!
Something interesting about you which most people would not know
I spent 4 years of my life sailing the seven seas, eventually meeting another fellow JET PACK member Taylor Sansom. I moved to Australia to be with her.
