Remember this… (Hint: also works in training and for performance in general)

Relaxed is efficient. Efficient is fast.

So rather than focusing on the desired outcome of going ‘fast’ (which is relative to each of us, of course) focus on the process of simply staying relaxed…

All too often we chase speed at high effort and end up holding unnecessary tension… which ultimately will lead to less speed than we are capable for said effort level.

When pushing hard put some concentration in to trying to stay relaxed… this will ensure you are more efficient (which is, again, relative for each of us) and mean you are more likely to yield a better return for your efforts.

Give it and try, and yes, keep practicing in your training – both the ‘hard’ and the ‘easy’ ones…

Enjoy
