A stunning Melbourne morning greeted the pack (and a few others!) at 2XU Race Five, Elwood on Sunday. The late start time also made for quite a hot run under the full sun.

O2 events do put on a cracking series with these races making for a great experience for athletes including; a simple registration process, complimentary race photos and stickers that come off your bike and helmet easily!

It’s a shame that race six clashes with Geelong 70.3 as we will have many in Geelong and a few in St Kilda that weekend. That said, there are already a few eyeing off the series next season…

To the race itself – Ryley had another great day out to take out the ‘open’ category ahead of Jamie and Josh and slot in to the top 20 overall. Matt Ellis had his comeback race post wrist break and Matt Huckstepp officially became a Triathlete… Don’t hold it against him! Another podium for Jacquie and another top five for the rookiest Robson – Daniel. 5km PB for Eric, bike PB for Ryan. PBs across the board for Hollie. The list goes on… Only downside was another unfortunate first-timer-flat-tyre-DNF for Harry in his first ‘official’ race. Next time…
