The value of sleep is quite clear – it can and will enhance performance in all areas of life. Here are some simple quick hit tips to help you get more, good quality sleep. Keep persisting – it is worth it.
– Avoid screen time in the final hour before bed
– Create a pre bed time routine that flows and you can repeat daily
– If you do use a screen pre bed change the brightness setting to night mode and/or wear blue light blocking glasses to help the eyes and brain recognise that it is soon to be bed time
– Keep your room cool and comfortable
– Try to head to bed at the same time (and wake up at similar times) daily – create routine
– Go to bed well fed and well hydrated
– On waking try to move, hydrate and get sunlight as soon as possible
